My Approach to IB Mathematics

IB Mathematics requires more than learning formulas and getting the right answer. Students need to understand the mathematics, recognize patterns, apply their knowledge in unfamiliar situations, and communicate their reasoning clearly.

I help students develop that understanding and approach so they are confident and successful in solving IB style problems.

IB MYP Mathematics

I support MYP students in developing strong mathematical understanding and the skills needed to succeed across the four MYP assessment criteria.

• Building strong mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills
• Investigating and generalizing patterns
• Communicating mathematical reasoning clearly
• Applying mathematics to real-world situations

IB Diploma Programme Mathematics

I work with students in both IB Diploma Programme mathematics courses:

• Analysis & Approaches (AA)
• Applications & Interpretation (AI)
• Exam preparation and past-paper questions
• Strategic and efficient use of the graphing calculator
• Identifying weak areas and filling gaps
